Proverbs 5
Intro:  God's Fatherly advice is bolder than the advice of our earthly families.
1.  The wise person is very aware of the delicious lure of adultery.  Prov. 5:1-6
a.  The wise person should learn before they live through an adulterous relationship.  (5:1-3)
b.  Wisdom about adultery demands that you consider her bitter end: death!  (5:4-6)

2.  More specifically, the price of adultery is very costly to you and your family.  Prov. 5:7-14
a.  Be wise and physically stay away from those who tempt you to an adulterous relationship.  (5:7-8)
b.  The results of an adulterous relationship will be giving your strength and wealth to strangers.  (5:9-11)
c.  The regrets of an adulterous relationship will be your ignorance and shame before the whole assembly.  (5:12-14)

3.  The better way is to have a rich sexuality in your marriage.  Prov. 5:15-20)
a.  Marital sex if full of overflowing blessing, not isolationism.  (5:15-17)
b.  Marital sex is a choice to be passionate with your mate and to be exhilarated with your lifelong marriage partner.  (5:18-20)

4.  God's recompense and sin's own judgment should motivate the wise person to avoid the adulterous relationship.
     Prov. 5:21-23

The message of Proverb 5:   The superiority of marital love over adulterous lust is evidenced in your family, ... finances, ... honor, ... life's conclusion, and divine reward.
